His history with the sea began at a young age with spearfishing. For 17 years he belonged to the Peruvian Spearfishing Federation and represented Peru at the 1987 World Championship, held in Turkey. He was a national champion in the third and second categories and reached the Top 7 nationally in the first category.

He later founded a dive shop and workshop in Miraflores, Lima, where he served recreational and professional divers. It was there that he discovered commercial diving, a specialty that sparked his interest and led him to train with the Peruvian Navy, where he obtained his Commercial Diver certification.

In 1990, he moved to Chimbote and founded AQUASER, a company dedicated to aquatic services. Over the years, this evolved into MAR SEGURO S.A.C., a company specializing in professional diving, rescue, and hydrographic survey services, providing solutions both nationally and internationally.
